WHO: This diet is for anyone that wants a flexible plan to follow. It has an easy-to-follow method and anyone can be successful using this method of dieting.
WHAT: IIFYM is based off macro nutrients such as: proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. Using this method instead of simply “counting calories” helps you make sure you aren’t over eating a certain amount of macro nutrients for your height and weight; which in the long run helps pack on muscle and shred body fat.
HOW: An easy way to follow this diet and track your macros is to use the MyFitnessPal app on your smart phone. You determine what percentage of each macro nutrient you will take in by entering your height, weight, age, sex, and activity level. You’ll also enter if you're looking to maintain your weight, gain, or lose. You’ll then find everything you need to follow in the app. Just track everything you eat and you’ll be set.
MY SUCCESS WITH IIFYM:
IIFYM has allowed me to have flexibility in my diet but also get the result I have desired. I have seen great improvement in my performance in weightlifting and metabolic conditioning workouts. I have also seen results in my body fat percentages. I completely believe in this diet and would encourage anyone that doesn’t enjoy really strict diets to try it.

Commentary- I have seen the results of this nutrition style in Austin and many others. I use it myself, but in a much different ratio of my macronutrients that what most people will follow. There is NO WAY to mess up your calorie intake if you're counting the carbs, protein, and fat grams that go into your body. This allows for desserts and other treats, so long as they fit the plan that day! If they don't, you don't eat it so it's that simple. Plan well, execute well and you'll achieve well! I have gained and dropped weight with this plan depending on my needs at the time, so it works!
