Asian Lettuce Wraps

These are a great weeknight (or any night) meal! Quick, easy, healthy, and most of all delicious! If you are craving Chinese, but you don’t want the added calories and MSG this is a great recipe for you! This simple skillet meal can also be modified for picky eaters if you have small children. Our 2 year old loves this one, I just add brown rice and make her portion a “rice bowl” if you will. She doesn't know (or care) that she is loading up on veggies when I fix this meal!

1 Bag Broccoli Slaw (or if you rather, regular cabbage slaw with carrots)

1 pound ground turkey

1 onion chopped

About 3 Tablespoons soy sauce to taste, add more or less to your liking

1/3 cup or more Teriyaki sauce to taste (not the thick kind but the kind that looks like soy sauce)

2 heads Romaine lettuce, leaves pealed off and washed but not cut up

Black pepper to taste

Brown ground turkey and chopped onion in skillet, add slaw, soy, Teriyaki, and black pepper to taste. Cook down about 10 more minutes. Taste periodically to see if you need to add more sauce or pepper. You can also add mushrooms to this last step if you like them. Serve mixture in Romaine lettuce leafs. For an additional fresh crunch, top with chopped green onions Enjoy!
